About EMI Analyst
EMI Analyst was developed by NARTE-certified EMC
Engineers as a design and analysis tool that can quickly, yet accurately predict
EMI performance. EMI Analyst grew out of the frustration
experienced by many engineers that there simply were no cost-effective EMI
analysis tools available on the market.
EMI Analyst gives electrical engineers the ability
to model a circuit in a system using design information already on hand, and
determine whether that circuit will meet its EMI requirements. EMI
Analyst is the first EMI analysis program that integrates all four facets of
EMI - , , , and - into one program.
Before EMI Analyst was created, EMI analysis
software fell into one of two categories: overly simplified programs that
attempted to implement a few mathematical formulas extracted from engineering
text books or very sophisticated programs aimed at modeling complex printed
circuit boards and/or systems.
The simple programs provided only fragments of needed
calculations, requiring the engineer to use various and unrelated tools to try
to piece together a complete analysis. A good analysis required an
experienced, knowledgeable EMC engineer who would often use "home grown" tools
to try to fill the void. EMI analysis was very time consuming, not very
accurate, and not comprehensive.
The more advanced analysis tools required extensively
trained, knowledgeable engineers, with a lot of time to devote to EMI
analysis. Many of these tools required input from a CAD system, dictating
that the design had to be complete before the EMI analysis could be done.
EMI Analyst overcomes the drawbacks of overly
simplified and overly complex EMI analysis tools by providing a user-friendly,
intuitive tool that uses information the design engineer typically has available
early in the design cycle. EMI Analyst uses sophisticated
computation algorithms to provide accurate analysis results, avoiding
inaccuracies inherent in many lesser tools. At the same time EMI
Analyst extracts electromagnetic characteristics from circuit and cabling
design information, so the engineer doesn't have to be an EMI expert to use
EMI Analyst. More:
