Bandwidth
EMI Analyst can take into account the effect of test
equipment measurement bandwidths. When or calculated by EMI
Analyst are displayed, the effect of measurement bandwidth is factored into
the graphed results. If desired, bandwidth effects can be bypassed when
graphing results.
Tech Note - Measurement Bandwidth
When
conducted emissions or radiated emissions are measured in an EMI laboratory the
measurement instrument, a spectrum analyzer or EMI receiver, has preset
measurement bandwidths. The bandwidth may change for different frequency
ranges. For most EMI standards, the measurement bandwidth for each
frequency range is specified by the regulatory agency. For example, the
bandwidths and frequency ranges shown in the figure above are those specified in
MIL-STD-461E. For a definition of applicable measurement bandwidths refer
