Capacitor
The Capacitor component impedance varies as a function of
frequency. The Capacitor model provides for parasitic elements common to
physical capacitors, including equivalent series inductance (ESL), equivalent
series resistance (ESR), and leakage resistance (Leakage Resistance) through the
capacitor.
The Capacitor may be either a Series component or a Shunt
component.
To calculate and graph the impedance of the Capacitor
component over the frequency range selected on the Frequency
Range form, click the Graph button on the Component Library form
toolbar or select menu Tools | Graph.
To change a Capacitor element value, select the present
value, enter the desired value, and click the OK button. When the
OK button is clicked the Capacitor is placed on the schematic
diagram. If the Close button is clicked the Component Library form
closes with no changes to the schematic diagram.
