Conducted Emissions Voltage Measurements

A typical setup for measuring conducted emissions voltage is shown in the following figure.  In this setup, taken from MIL-STD-461E, the equipment under test (EUT) is supplied power through two Line Impedance Stabilization Networks (LISNs).  The LISNs provide known, standardized impedance over the test frequency range. 

With regard to the CE Analyst conducted emissions model, the EUT represents the Source and Filter, the LISNs represent the load, and the lines between the EUT and LISNs represent the Conductors.

Conducted emissions voltage is measured over the test frequency range by the measurement receiver, a Spectrum Analyzer or EMI Receiver.  The measured voltage amplitude is then compared to the applicable conducted emission limit to determine whether the EUT complies with the limit.
