Conducted Susceptibility Limits

The radio frequency signal level to which a device is subjected during Conducted Susceptibility testing is called the Limit.  The limit is typically specified as voltage or current over a range of frequencies.  The signal level may be constant over the frequency range or may vary with frequency.  Limits are generally specified by the governing regulatory agency.

For example, at the time of this writing the European Union specifies in EN61000-4-6 that equipment subject to Level 3 requirements shall be not be susceptible to injected voltage 140 dBuV (10 volts) over the frequency range 150 kHz to 80 MHz.  Similarly, the US Military specifies in MIL-STD-461E that equipment subject to CS114 requirements shall withstand the levels shown in the following figure, 10 kHz to 200 MHz.
