CS Bound -- Pre-Test Calibration Level
The Pre-Test Calibration Level option establishes
the upper bound by calculating power, voltage, or current for a fixed
impedance. During CS analysis calculations the injected signal is limited
to the values established by the upper bound.
This option is appropriate when the CS requirement states
that the CS injection levels are not to exceed a power, voltage, or current
threshold across or through fixed impedance.
For example, MIL-STD-461E states, "Requirements are also
met if the EUT is not susceptible at forward power levels sensed by the coupler
that are below those determined during calibration provided that the actual
current induced in the cable under test is 6 dB or greater than the calibration
limit." For more information, refer to MIL-STD-461E.
Watts
If the Watts option is selected, enter the specified power
level in the first text box and the specified
impedance in the second text box.
For example, if the upper bound is specified as, "1.00E+00
watts into a 5.00E+01 ohm load" the upper bound on CS injected voltage will be
7.07 Volts and the upper bound on current will be 141.4 mA.
Volts
If the Voltage option is selected, enter the specified
voltage level in the first text box and the specified load impedance in the
second text box.
If the CS Limit is specified in terms of voltage and the
upper bound is specified as, "3.00E+00 volts into a 1.00E+02 ohm load" the upper
bound on CS injected voltage will be 3.0 volts and the upper bound on current
will be 30 mA.
Amps
If the Amps option is selected, enter the specified current
level in the first text box and the specified load impedance in the second text
box.
If the CS Limit is specified in terms of current and the
upper bound is specified as, "5.00E+00 amps into a 2.00E+00 ohm load" the upper
bound on CS injected voltage will be 5.0 amps and the upper bound on voltage
will be 2.5 volts. More:
