CS Shield Transfer Impedance
The CS Shield Transfer Impedance module calculates, as
the name implies, the transfer impedance of the conductor shield using the
physical properties of the shield. The CS Shield Transfer Impedance module is enabled only
when a shielded cable configuration is selected from the Conductor module.

Shield
transfer impedance is an intrinsic property of the shield.
Unlike shielding effectiveness, which is a function of test setup and the
circuits connected at the ends of the wires inside the shield, is an independent figure of
merit. Shield transfer impedance directly affects the shielding
effectiveness of the shield. In general, lower values of shield transfer
impedance produce higher shielding effectiveness.
Several options are available for calculating shield
transfer impedance, depending on the information available. Once shield
transfer impedance has been calculated the bar below the Shield Transfer
button on the CS Analyst form is changed from red to green. More:
