Radiated emissions are electric, magnetic, or electromagnetic fields emitted by electric circuit conductors.  Radiated emissions are a natural byproduct of circuit operation.  Field strength radiated by a conductor is a function of numerous variables, including current and voltage amplitude, distance to the return path conductor, and circuit impedance.

The common abbreviation for radiated emissions is RE.
