Pulse Modulated
The Pulse Modulated waveform has zero amplitude at time
zero and then increases in amplitude sinusoidally to its unmodulated
value. After a time determined by the value in the Duty Cycle text box,
the amplitude decreases instantaneously to an amplitude determined by the value
in the Depth text box. One cycle of the waveform is displayed in the upper graph
of the form.
The amplitude of the modulated sine wave is:

The amplitude of the unmodulated sine wave is:

where
Y(t) = Waveform amplitude at time t
Y1 = Peak Amplitude sets the peak
unmodulated amplitude of the sine wave.
w = angular
frequency = 2pf
f = Sine Wave Frequency sets the
frequency of the modulated sine wave.
d = Depth sets the amplitude of the
modulated sine wave.
Frequency set the modulation
frequency. The period shown in the time domain graph is one period, the
reciprocal of Frequency.
Duty Cycle sets the percentage time
the sine wave is unmodulated, i.e. the time the sine wave has full
amplitude.
