Radiated Emissions Limits

Regulatory agencies specify limits for maximum allowable radiated emissions.  Radiated emissions limits are generally specified in the frequency domain as maximum allowable electric field strength at each frequency over a specified range.  Field strength is generally specified in units of dBuV/m. 

For example, the military helicopter radiated emissions limit specified in MIL-STD-461E is shown in the following graph.  Radiated emissions must be below the limit line to be compliant with the limit.
