RS Analyst Model Description
RS Analyst performs calculations by evaluating a radiated susceptibility model
over a range of frequencies specified by the user. The radiated
susceptibility model is comprised of four major components:
Electromagnetic Field
(not shown in the figure below)
Right-Hand Circuit

The Electromagnetic
Field models the direction, orientation, and amplitude of the
externally generated electromagnetic field that impinges on the
conductors. Field amplitude is specified using the Limit module, while
field direction and orientation are specified using the module.
The Left-Hand Circuit models circuit
components connected to the left-hand end of the conductors. Typically,
but not always, the Left-Hand Circuit will consist of interconnect
components (e.g. printed circuit traces), EMI
components, and equivalent circuits for active circuit components.
Left-Hand Circuit components may be lumped circuit elements, such as
resistors and capacitors, as well as printed wiring board traces.
The Conductors are electrical cabling that
connects the Left-Hand Circuit to the . Conductors may be
a variety of configurations consisting of circular conductors, ground planes,
and shields.
The Right-Hand Circuit models circuit
components connected to the right-hand end of the conductors. Typically,
but not always, the Right -Hand Circuit will consist of interconnect
components (e.g. printed circuit traces), EMI filter components, and models of
active circuit components. Right-Hand Circuit components may be
lumped circuit elements, such as resistors and capacitors, as well as printed
wiring board traces. More:
