RS Shield Termination

The RS Shield Termination module calculates the electrical characteristics of the shield terminations at each end of the conductor shield.  The RS Shield Termination module is enabled only when a shielded cable configuration is selected from the Conductor module.

The impedance of the shield terminations has a significant impact on the shielding effectiveness of the shield, thereby affecting current and voltage induced on the conductors inside the shield dramatically.  RS Analyst calculates the shield termination impedance at each end of the shield using the termination method and physical properties entered by the user.  Each shield termination is defined independently.  Once the termination impedances have been calculated the status bar beneath the Shield Termination button on the RS Analyst form is changed from red to green.
