Skipping Frequencies

The number of frequencies at which radiated emissions are calculated can be reduced manually by entering a value greater than 1 on the Adjust Frequency Steps form, shown in the figure below.  If the value on the Adjust Frequency Steps form is 1, radiated emissions at every frequency determined by the Frequency Range form will be calculated.  If the number of frequencies is large the amount of time required may be excessive.

See the Frequency Range form for additional information on how EMI Analyst assigns frequencies.

To have RE Analyst skip frequencies change the value in the text box by entering a positive integer value or clicking the up-down arrows on the text box.  The value entered must be greater than or equal to 1, but no greater than the number of frequencies.

To determine the number of frequencies, set the value in the text box to 1.

Hint:  It may be helpful to first perform radiated emissions a fraction of the total number of frequencies, for example every 10 frequencies.  If the data is as expected, perform the radiated emissions at every frequency.
