Source Form
Every active circuit is a potential of emitted electromagnetic interference, i.e.,
active circuits produce and . EMI Analyst characterizes
active circuits using its voltage and current waveforms, and its stray
capacitance to chassis or earth ground.
The Source form allows the user to specify properties of
time domain voltage and current waveforms for active circuitry in an EMI
Analyst emissions analysis. EMI Analyst uses the voltage and
current waveforms to calculate common mode current, thereby fully characterizing
both differential mode and common mode characteristics of the circuit.
From the time domain waveforms, the Source form calculates
the corresponding frequency domain spectrum. Thus, each voltage waveform
has a corresponding voltage spectrum, each current waveform has a corresponding
current spectrum, and each common mode current waveform has a corresponding
common mode current spectrum. More:
