Coil Inductance

Wire Coil Inductance Model
Inductance of a wire coil is:
InductanceCoilFormula
Units: Henries

Description
The inductance calculated using this tool is the inductance of a wire coil tightly wrapped around a high permeability core.

Assumptions and Limitations
Dimensions are in meters.
Wire is assumed to have circular cross section.
Coil length is assumed to be much larger than wire diameter.
Wire turns are assumed closely wound on a single layer on a core having relative permeability much greater than unity, i.e. Symbol-muR >>1

Constants
Permeability of free space: Formula, Permeability of Free Space H/m
